What you should submit
By 11:59pm on Monday, 11/18/26, you should submit to Canvas:
- A draft map that clearly demonstrates progress towards your final project analysis, submitted in
PNGformat at300 DPI - A short description (no more than 250 words/1-page single-spaced) of where your analysis stands, what’s left to do, etc.
Draft map
You should submit a map that reflects progress towards a final poster. It does not need to be a 100% finished, polished map, but it must meet the following criteria:
- Depicts multiple spatial datasets used in your analysis/representation
- Demonstrate your understanding of your chosen geospatial methodology
- Follows best practices of cartographic design
Reflection
Additionally, you should submit a short description of about 250 words explaining how the map fits into your broader poster layout, topic, and project, including answers to these questions:
- What workflow did you use? Be specific—what kinds of tools did you run, are you using clips/buffers? Are you created data through table joins, georeferencing, etc.?
- What were the key data sources? Be specific—what are the data models (vector/raster) and data sources?
- Based on what you accomplished so far, what’s left for you to do?
